    Mr. Matt Joyce is part of CM's Science Department where he teaches physics, chemistry, and biology. Mr. Joyce taught previously at Boston College High School and Norfolk County Agricultural High School. At BC High, Mr. Joyce lead Kairos retreats and coached soccer and rugby. Mr. Joyce has also taught adult learners and worked for several years in financial services. He is a graduate of Emory University with a BS in Neuroscience and is pursuing his master’s degree at Boston College.

    Mrs. McGauley has been working as a science teacher for 25 years. She has worked at CM for 10 years, teaching 7th and 8th grade science. Before CM, she taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science in Needham. She has also taught pre-algebra and honors algebra. Before she became a teacher, Ms. McGauley worked as a chemist for a fortune 500 company andin cancer research at a major Boston hospital. Her husband and brother-in-law are all graduates of CM.

    Br. Phelps has taught in Harlem, Rhode Island, and England as a member of the Christian Brothers before arriving at CM. During his time at CM, he has played an integral role in directing and producing dozens of plays and musicals. He has worked tirelessly to further the Christian Brothers’ mission through the school’s Blessed Edmund Rice Solidarity Initiative and numerous campus ministry initiatives. Every month, he assists in the technical production of CM’s schoolwide Mass.

    Mr. Sidney Sarfo ’16 teaches Chemistry and Physical Science at CM. He previously worked at Fairfield University as a research assistant in the biology and chemistry departments. At Fairfield, Mr. Sarfo won the Bellarmine Scholarship and the Martin Luther King Hope Scholarship. He was also the manager of the men’s varsity basketball and lacrosse teams, as well as a leader in the black student union at Fairfield. He also coaches basketball and lacrosse.
