A defensive lineman, Lucas represents the only Knight selected for the honor.
Lucas earned 2017 All-Scholastic honors from both
The Boston Globe and
The Boston Herald at the end of last season. He dominated opposing guards and tackles, terrifying quarterbacks to the beat of 12.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss. The Catholic Conference named him 2017 Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Lucas’ latest honor keeps Knights football in the spotlight after an August full of headlines.
Last month,
The Boston Herald selected Lucas and four other Knights for its 13
th annual preseason football All-Star team.
Senior cornerbacks Khari Johnson and Hunter Tully joined Lucas with
first-team All-Defense honors. Hunter, a returning 2017 All-Scholastic, and Khari plan to expand their roles at wide receiver this year too.
Senior offensive lineman Hunter Salmon earned second-team All-Offense while sophomore linebacker Owen McGowan earned second-team All-Defense. CM selected Owen as its Breakout Candidate for Football in its
2018 Fall Sports Digest.
